In its announcement, Tor officials thanked the cryptocurrency community for its strong support and said that through donations, Tor has made great strides to successfully deal with the Russian blockade and is also playing an important role in improving cryptocurrency privacy.

U.S.-based Tor Project and Russian digital rights protection group RosKomSvoboda will appeal the recent decision to block their main website, TorProject.org, as well as key nodes, in court in Russia.

In 2022 the Tor Project will improve the Tor daemon code, improve congestion control on the Tor network, further improve the user experience, and will also work to improve the experience for mobile users.
