Tor Browser releases new version 10.0.17, hinting at upcoming discontinuation of support for V2 of The Onion service

The latest update to the desktop version of Tor Browser has been released.This version updates Firefox to 78.11esr. In addition, Tor Browser 10.0.17 updates NoScript to 11.2.8, HTTPS Everywhere to 2021.4.15, and Tor to 0.4.5.8. This version includes important security updates to Firefox for Desktop.

The new version of the browser includes a prompt under the search box to stop supporting the V2 of the Onion service:

Tor is ending its support for version 2 (v2) Onion Services, and v2 onion sites have since been deprecated. If you're a site administrator, upgrade to a v3 onion service immediately.
